Scott McNeill is a versatile photographer and has presented a number of times at the Arlington Camera Club over the years, including Solar Eclipse Photography and Winter Photography. Scott is a volunteer photographer with the Lake County Forest Preserve. He is returning to Arlington Camera Club to talk about Macro and Close-up Photography and some of the photos that he has captured in the Lake County Preserves.
Be sure to come out to Christian Church of Arlington Heights to hear Scott’s presentation. The meeting starts at 7:30 pm. Doors will open around 7:00 p.m.
During the Covid pandemic, Scott, like all of us, had to create his own photographic opportunities to keep busy. He will share the opportunities he created and how he created them, and what his final images looked like. You too can create these images. Hopefully not during a pandemic, but rather when it is cold and snowy out and you chose not to photograph snowflakes or eagles.
We will discuss photographing: smoke, splash, refraction/reflections, oil & water, water droplet collisions, soap bubbles and more.
Please join us as we welcome Todd Nettlehorst and his program, Todd Nettelhorst – “Phone Photography: From Pocket to Post”.
The program will begin at 7:30 PM
The Arlington Camera Club was founded in 1988 to promote the hobby of photography and to improve the photographic abilities of our club members. Through various workshops, educational programs, field trips, and competitions we strive to achieve high quality photos. We learn from each other, and we have fun!
The club meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month, September through May. We meet at the Christian Church of Arlington Heights, 333 W. Thomas, Arlington Heights, IL.
Doors open at 7 PM and the meeting starts at 7:30 PM.
Whether novice or professional, you use a camera or cellphone, all are welcome to join our group!
At our next meeting on May 7, one of our own members, Carl Chandler, will present a program on cell phone photography and apps. Bring your Cell Phones; both Android & Iphones. We will be sharing apps for editing, accessories and tips. Bring cell phone pictures for sharing with members.

Our meeting begins at 7:30 PM and guests are always welcome.
With the new software tools available to us, it is easier than ever to make a good monochrome image, as long as there is a basic concept to what makes a good image. The latest techniques are demoed, and plugin options are discussed, as well as a basic concept of what makes a good B&W (understanding color conversion and achieving optimum tonal range).
Join us for this session on April 16, 2025 at 7:30 pm at the Christian Church of Arlington Heights: 333 West Thomas, Arlington Heights, Illinois.
