Club Meeting – September 17, 2025 – Todd Nettelhorst – “Phone Photography: From Pocket to Post”
Please join us as we welcome Todd Nettlehorst and his program, Todd Nettelhorst – “Phone Photography: From Pocket to Post”.

The Arlington Camera Club was founded in 1988 to promote the hobby of photography and to improve the photographic abilities of our club members. Through various workshops, educational programs, field trips, and competitions we strive to achieve high quality photos. We learn from each other, and we have fun!
The club meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month, September through May. We meet at the Christian Church of Arlington Heights, 333 W. Thomas, Arlington Heights, IL.
Doors open at 7 PM and the meeting starts at 7:30 PM.
Whether novice or professional, you use a camera or cellphone, all are welcome to join our group!
May 7, 2025 Club Meeting – Cell phone photography and apps with Carl Chandler
At our next meeting on May 7, one of our own members, Carl Chandler, will present a program on cell phone photography and apps. Bring your Cell Phones; both Android & Iphones. We will be sharing apps for editing, accessories and tips. Bring cell phone pictures for sharing with members.
Carl Chandler is a professional photographer based in Arlington Heights, Illinois, specializing in headshot and portrait photography for over a decade. Carl brings a unique perspective and attention to detail to every project. A Fuji shooter mentored by Peter Hurley, Carl is recognized as one of the top headshot photographers in the Chicagoland area. He has taught classes at ClickCon—where he was sponsored by Capture One—and attends events like ShutterFest to stay sharp and connected to the industry.
Our meeting begins at 7:30 PM and guests are always welcome.

Techniques for Making a B&W Image
With the new software tools available to us, it is easier than ever to make a good monochrome image, as long as there is a basic concept to what makes a good image. The latest techniques are demoed, and plugin options are discussed, as well as a basic concept of what makes a good B&W (understanding color conversion and achieving optimum tonal range).

Macro Workshop on February 19, 2025
Please join us for a hands-on creative photography workshop on Wednesday, February 19th.
Plan to take photos of a variety of objects with your cell phone or camera. It’s an opportunity to zone in on your indoor lighting skills and collaborate and trade techniques with other members. Whether you want to shoot macro, close-up, or try your hand at impressionism, the end result of your photo creation is up to you! We will have a variety of items to photograph, but feel free to bring an item with you to add to the collection.

Club Meeting – December 18, 2024
Hello Club members,
Our meeting on December 18 will be Image Review Night. Bring in images (prints or digital) for a feedback session. Perhaps your image can benefit from strategic cropping or a different border. Brainstorm with your fellow ACC Club Members to see how to get the best from your photos. Our meeting begins at 7:30 PM.

The program for our November 20 meeting will feature Post Processing Tips & Techniques presented by Mort Lerman. Mort is a long-time member of the Arlington Camera Club and, as he says, he’s been taking photos for “a long time”.

Club Meeting – November 6, 2024 – Scott McNeill
Scott McNeill, a Northshore Camera Club member, will provide a presentation on photography during the wintertime.
When it is really cold outside, and you would prefer to be inside by the fire…”
The presentation will provide insights as to how to have some fun and make creative images in the cold. And there will be a discussion about photographic possibilities and photography gear and clothing needed.
Come see some of Scott’s winter images and listen to his insights, and share yours, about what and how to photograph subjects in the cold.
The presentation will start at 7:30 pm, doors open at 7:00 pm.
Club Meeting – October 16, 2024 – Fred Gold
ACC Member, Fred Gold, will present a program on Sreet Photography at our next meeting.
Fred will discuss the difference between Portrait, Nature, Architectural, and Street Photography. After experimenting with the different classifications he has specialized in Street Photography for many years. At the current time, he has a solo exhibit at the North Shore Senior Center for the months of September and October using an unusual method of displaying the images. Fred will be showing some of his images as examples and for discussion.
