Ralph Velasco is an exceptionally talented travel photography instructor and seasoned international guide who has photographed in over 70 countries on 6 continents.

He’s the author of “Ralph Velasco On Travel Photography: 101 Tips for Developing Your Photographic Eye & More” as well as a number of other eBooks and guides.

Ralph was a finalist for the prestigious 2016 and 2015 Travel Photographer of the Year awards and was selected to a group of the Top 100 Travel Photographers in the World for 2014 by a site in the U.K., as well as one of the Top 10 Travel Photography Bloggers by USA Today.  Additionally he was chosen to a list of 10 Photography Travel Bloggers to Inspire You This Year.  Two years in a row he was chosen “Open Photographer of the Year” by the Professional Photographers of Orange County, California.

Ralph has an MBA in International Business from United States International University in Mexico City and San Diego, an undergraduate degree in Management from the Indiana University School of Business, speaks Spanish, and is a licensed private pilot.

He’s also been an integral member of several championship sailing teams in Chicago, San Diego and Newport Beach, California.

Ansel Adams: Early Works

We all know that Ansel Adams was a giant in the field of landscape photography. Many viewers are familiar with Adams’ heroic, high-contrast prints from the 1970s.  “Ansel Adams: Early Works” focuses on the artist’s masterful, less well-known small prints from the 1920s through 1950s.  By capturing the power of nature, Ansel Adams changed our understanding of landscape photography, solidifying it as a legitimate form of modern art.

Please bring as many pics as you would like.
You will choose which image you want reviewed first and put in the First Group to be Reviewed area on the table –  (will be labeled).

2nd image you want to be reviewed, to be put in the Second Group to be Reviewed area on the table (will be labeled).

3rd image you want reviewed to be put in the Third Group to be Reviewed area on the table (will be labeled).

Our goal here is to make sure that all 1st choice images get reviewed.

We will have a set time limit for each review.

Our next meeting is Competition Night – Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Competition is open to all paid members.

Print Competition

We are asking that you have your prints matted and ready to submit by 7:00 pm in order to have time to organize all the entries and start the competition promptly at 7:30.

Digital Projected Image (DPI) Competition

We hope to resume DPI competitions soon. We will send out details on DPI as soon as they are available.
